George "Dutch" Wehreim Bell
George "Dutch" Wehreim Bell, 84, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Dutch was born on May 22, 1940 and was a son of the late George Lewis and Fern (Wehreim) Bell.
George worked in Pharmaceutical Sales for Eli Lilly.
George was united in marriage to Judith (Haley) Bell who preceded him in death on June 28, 2012.
Dutch spent part of the year in Florida and enjoyed golfing with his friends and daily tea time. He loved boating, camping, reading, and spending time at his cabin. What he cherished most in life was spending time with his family.
George is survived by children, Tonia (Todd) Simmons, Tracy (Randy) Moats, Don (Jennifer) Bell. He was known as "Bam Bam" to grandchildren, Erica (Shawn) Maddox, Tyler (Kristie) Simmons, Erin (Chad) Dean, Travis Moats, Haley (Dustin) Emore, Jared (Jessica) Bell, Maggie (Jacob) Long and great grandchildren, Caleb Maddox, Aiden Maddox, Brayden Dean, Addisyn Dean, Teagan Emore, Sawyer Moats, Tatum Emore, Maci Moats, Hudson Simmons, Scout Simmons; and nephews, Wayne Bell, Jr., Jed and Dustin Haley, and Kyle and Dean Cheshire; sister-in-laws, Patty Haley, Corky Cheshire, and Carole Bell.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dutch was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Bell; brother-in-law, Arthur "Bud" Haley; great-granddaughter, Madison Maddox.
The family will receive friends from 6PM - 8PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater. Burial will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
