George "Bill" William Hinkle

George William "Bill" Hinkle, 88, of Penn Laird, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his home.

He was born on January 7, 1935 and was a son of the late Clarence T. and Mattie (Michael) Hinkle.

Bill was an active member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He retired from Reynolds/Alcoa after 45 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Bill was united in marriage on August 18, 1963 to Linda (Randolph) Hinkle.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son, Randy (Wanda) Hinkle; grandchildren, Seth (Sarah) Hinkle and Daniel Younce; son-in-law, Keith Younce; sisters-in-law, Shelvy Hinkle and Dee Randolph; nephew, Chris (Tammy) Hinkle; nieces, Melanie Hinkle, Shelly Marino and Julie Johnson; great nephews, Evan Hinkle and Ben Hinkle.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Natalie Younce; brother, Donald Hinkle; and brother-in-law, Gary Randolph.

A service celebrating Bill's life will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle with Pastors Ron Spencer and Andrew Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham/Harrisonburg SPCA.
