Gary Lyle Glendye

STAUNTON – Gary Lyle Glendye, 72, husband of Betty “B. J.” (Rowe) Glendye, died Monday (July 31, 2023) at his home.

Gary was born July 16, 1951 in Stuarts Draft to George B. Glendye and Bessie L. Glendye. He graduated from Riverheads High School in 1970. He was a skilled tool and die maker, and was employed by Nibco for 42 years prior to retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elmer W. and George F. Glendye; and sister Gennevive Bare. Surviving in addition to his wife of 48 years are a son, Garrett Lee Glendye and wife Melanie of Staunton; three siblings and their spouses, Thomas and Betsy (Heatwole) Glendye of Bridgewater, Gracie and George Middlekauff of Staunton, and Wilma and Ronald Hanger of Middlebrook; two grandsons, Wesley and Lucas Glendye; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 4 in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery, officiated by the Pastor David Vaughan. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church following the service.
