Galen Harrison Gooden

Galen Harrison Gooden, 74, of Brandywine, WV (formerly of Grottoes) passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Blue Ridge Nursing & Rehab.

He was born on August 18, 1949 and was a son of the late Lester L. and Gladys (Morris) Gooden.

Galen had worked at Dunham Bush and Reynolds Metals prior to his retirement. He enjoyed motorcycles, gardening and was the best cook. He loved his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Galen is survived by his children, Angela Marston and husband Randy, Devon Gooden, and Missy Courtney; a brother, Dallas Gooden and wife Patty; a sister, Lois Hensley. seven grandchildren, Brandon Marston, Amber Marston, Kayla Campbell, Brianna Seekford, Donald Seekford, Charlene Courtney, and Heather Courtney, and eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dakota Marston; son-in-law, Dale Courtney and his sister, Venda King and brother-in-law, David Hensley.

A service celebrating Galen's life will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Penn Laird Pentecostal Church with Pastor David Clinedinst officiating.
