F. Edward Wymer

F. Edward Wymer, 81 of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at his home in Strasburg.

Ed was born in Winchester, VA on November 28,1942, a son of the late Kenneth and Daphna Wymer.  He was a 1961 graduate of Strasburg High School, and a 1966 graduate of Glenville State University.  After college he taught Government, Physical Education, and Driver’s Education at Strasburg High School for several years before becoming a Construction Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation.

He was a lifetime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Sue Cutlip Wymer; his children Nikki Wymer Taylor (Paul), Russell Wymer (Bridget) his grandsons Timothy McDonald, Riley McDonald, Corey Peer (Lucy); Reese Taylor, his great grandchildren Hayden McDonald, Jackson McDonald, Keegan Herbaugh, Kinslee McDonald, and Coleman Peer, his sister, Margie Wymer Clevenger of Middletown, Va, and his brother, John Wymer (Jodie) of New Market, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Wymer Elbon, his brother, Ken Wymer, and his daughter, Jackie Wymer Speiden.

A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday February 11, 2024, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 15737 Back Road, Strasburg, VA with Pastor Robert Wise officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
