Eugenia "Genie" Chaplin Leary
Eugenia (Genie) Chaplin Leary went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wayne Edward Leary; her daughter, Mary Beth Stech and her husband, Tommy Stech; her son, Wayne Edward Leary, Jr. and his wife, Dawn Leary; her grandsons, Thomas Wayne Stech, Justin Wayne Leary and Hunter Restie Leary; her sister-in-law, Anita Chaplin of California and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Hot Springs, Virginia, a daughter of Wilbur Duncan Chaplin and Ann Dueling Chaplin who preceded her in death, along with her sisters, Nancy Ellen Chaplin, Rebecca Chaplin Bell, Mildred Chaplin Neff, Norma Chaplin Layne and Martha Chaplin Berry and her brothers, Richard Chaplin of California and Wilbur Duncan Chaplin of New Orleans.
She attended Valley High School and James Madison University. She was a member of Skyline Model A Ford Club where she was a newspaper editor for 24 years. She attended Lynside Mennonite Church in Lyndhurst, Virginia.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Lynside Mennonite Church, 648 Mt. Torrey Rd., Lyndhurst, VA 22952. Interment will be at a later date in the Chaplin Family plot at Union Chapel Cemetery, Hot Springs, Virginia
