Eugene Thomas "Andy" Anderson

Eugene Thomas “Andy” Anderson, 95, husband of Jean Elizabeth (Wimer) Anderson, formerly of Montgomery Road in Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mr. Anderson was born in Augusta County, Virginia on November 4, 1927, a son of the late Edward Lewis Anderson and Mary Margaret (Sweet) Anderson.

Andy retired from Western State Hospital and was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 71 years, is a son, Larry Anderson and his wife, Vicky of Staunton; a daughter, Judy Anderson Williams and her husband, Scott of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren, Justin Anderson, Erin (Anderson) Shiflett and her husband, Robbie, Chase Williams and his husband, Dillon Whitlow, and Makenzi (Williams) Flinchum and her husband, Beau; and three great-grandchildren, Teagan and Addison Shiflett, and Banks Flinchum.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Larry and Vicky (51 Montgomery Road, Staunton, VA 24401) on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Jacob Singleton.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Anderson, Robbie Shiflett, Teagan Shiflett, Chase Williams, Dillon Whitlow, and Clayton Painter.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
