Ethel Mae (Teter) Grogg

Ethel Mae (Teter) Grogg, 94, widow of Elzie Henry Grogg, formerly of Churchville, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at King’s Daughters Nursing and Rehab in Staunton. 
Mrs. Grogg was born in Circleville, West Virginia on October 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Rumsey Teter and Myrtle (Phares) Teter.
Ethel was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Blue Grass and St. James United Methodist Church in Churchville. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Effie Ann Johnson Daycare, where she made a lasting impact. Ethel was also a proud charter member of the Western Augusta Steam and Gas Association. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, embroidering, and embracing the joys of homemaking.
Mrs. Grogg was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Grogg was preceded in death by her sister, Ruby (Hevener) Ervine.
Surviving, is a son, Raymond Leo Grogg and his wife, Teresa of Churchville; a grandson, Robert Jacob Grogg; a niece, Patsy Moyers; a nephew, John Nipper; her caregiver, Loretta Teter; and a number of cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence of Mrs. Ethel Grogg, 709 Scenic Highway, Churchville, VA 24421.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Andre Crummett and Mike Puffenbarger.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Bert Moyers, Christopher Moyers, Tim Teter, Ethan Teter, Chad Teter, Jason Teter, Eric Whitson, David Vann, John Nipper, and Ray Pitsenbarger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trina Moyers, Dixie Teter, Lori Teter, Iris Berry, Jackie Howard, Doris Whitson, Gail Rexrode, and Debbie Pitsenbarger.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
