Edith S. Robbins

Edith Marie Schafer Robbins, 89, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Baldwin Park in Staunton.She was born on August 11, 1934, in Hackensack, NJ. To the late Earl Amil and Beatrice Thomas Schafer.Edith was an elementary school teacher in New Jersey, dedicating her life to education and inspiring countless students over many years.Outside of her professional life she was an avid bridge player and had a love of bingo, as well.She was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church in Staunton.She is survived by her special friend, Meryly Kohler. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Richard Peter Robbins, Jr., and a brother, Raymond Emil Schafer.Inurnment at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Pastor Dave Sandy will officiate the service.It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105).
