Eddie Eldridge Hammer
Eddie Eldridge Hammer, 73, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Hammer was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia on March 6, 1952, a son of Roland E. Hammer and the late Betty Lou (Sipe) Hammer.
Eddie was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He retired from DuPont as an electrician and later worked as a technician for Valley Pool and Spa. In his spare time, Eddie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his father of Waynesboro, is a daughter, Amanda (Hammer) Austin Madden and her husband, Joe of Staunton; three sons, Shane E. Hammer of Waynesboro, Brock M. Hammer of Fishersville, and Ian G. Hammer and his wife, Meagan of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Derrick Hammer, Chase Hammer, Corwin Harman, Levi Hammer, Grady Austin, Porter Austin, Casey Hammer, and Wyatt Hammer; and a brother, Terry L. Hammer and his wife, JoAnne of Waynesboro.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Levi Smith.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
