Doyle Allen Lambert

STAUNTON – Doyle Allen “Sheriff” “Moose” Lambert, 82, of Churchville Ave., passed away Tuesday (May 25, 2021) in Augusta Health. 

Born September 6, 1938 in Churchville, he was a son of Jacob Monroe and Nellie (Armstrong) Lambert.  He was a graduate of Churchville High School and a member of St. James United Methodist Church. He was a United States Army veteran. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the City of Staunton’s engineering department.  Allen enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid baseball and NASCAR fan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn Morris and Wilma Halterman; and a brother, Ray Lambert.  Surviving are two sisters, Genny Michael and Mary Huffman, both of Churchville; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 30 in Green Hill Cemetery officiated by Pastor Lester Kennedy.  Active pallbearers will be Ross Shull, Steve Morris, Gary Michael, John Halterman, Jr., Ray Lambert, Jr., Rodger Huffman, Timmy Huffman, Ed Jacquin, and David Losh.   

Friends may visit on Saturday at the home of Mary Huffman, 166 Hotchkiss Rd., Churchville, Va.
