Dorothy Mae "Dot" Biggers
Dorothy Mae “Dot” Biggers, 92, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Waynesboro Manor. She was born in Nashville, TN, on December 10, 1930, a daughter of the late William Turner and Lula Mae (Walker) Bracey.
Dot worked as a motel manager for many years. Following her retirement, she worked as a volunteer at Springfield, TN, Hospital for 20 plus years. Dot was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ. She greatly enjoyed sewing and embroidery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Woodruff Biggers and her siblings: Kermit Bracey, Bud Bracey, Jerome Bracey, Verner Bracey, and Maxine Searle.
Survivors include her two children, Jerry W. Biggers and wife, Gayle, and Becky Huffman and husband, Lyle; six grandchildren, Cali Hammer and husband, Adam, Jesse W, Biggers and wife, Jamie Dr. Jon W. Biggers and wife, Whitney, Ginger McDonaldson, Tara Stroop and husband, Kevin, Tonya Magno; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Baker and husband, Randy, and Chris Huffman; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sibling, Laverne Raymer; as well as extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Joelton Hills Memory Gardens, 6216 Clarksville Pike, Joelton, TN, 37080, with Pastor Joe Rushing officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah and the Waynesboro Manor for their loving care of Dot and her family.
