Dorothy K. (Michael) Sheffer

Dorothy K. (Michael) Sheffer, 93, of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at the Bridgewater Home.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1930 to the late Olive G. (Chewing) Pavy and Houston H. Michael.

On Oct. 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to James "Lefty" Melvin Sheffer, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 16, 2003.

She is survived by a nephews, Samuel Sheffer and companion, Mary Lou Meadows, Earl Sheffer and wife, Pamela; sister-in-law, Patty S. Figgs; great nieces and nephew, Danielle Atkins and husband, Cody, Lisa Brunk and husband, Avery, and Chris Sheffer and wife, Kate; other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, James "Buster" Melvin Sheffer, Jr., and an infant baby boy.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater.

A funeral service to honor the life and legacy of Dorothy will be held 11 AM on Monday, Feb. 5th, at the funeral home, with Rev. Stephen Creech officiating. Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Emmanuel Church Cemetery.
