Donna Mason

On Sunday morning, May 4, 2025, God gave his beloved daughter, Donna, A “grand entrance into the Eternal Kingdom of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (I Peter 1:11) Donna Lee Lawhorne Mason was born in Waynesboro, VA on Sunday, September 6, 1953, to Troy MacDonald Lawhorne and Carrie Crissman Lawhorne. She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan and Lindsay Mason of Churchville and Shane Mason of Mount Solon. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren Tucker, Luken, Blake and Jacob; 1 great grandchild Kylee Frazier. Also surviving are her sisters, Brenda Prochaska (Frank), and Sandra Lancaster (Jay).niece, Jennifer Lancaster, nephews Ben Lancaster (Marlana) and Whitt Coffey (Jennifer), great nephew Robert Mitchell Martin and great niece, Avery Blake Coffey, as well as numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her granddaughter, Ciara Marie Coffey, and her nephew, Stephen Robert “Robbie” Martin and Pete Coffey.

Donna was gifted with a beautiful contralto voice.
She was a member of the Waynesboro High School Concert Choir, (class of 1971)
Through the years she was invited to sing at weddings, funerals, etc. Donna was a long time member of the Waynesboro Choral Society, serving as president for one year.
She was a member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church.
For a number of years, Donna was owner of Express Personnel, taking great delight in the people she served.
A special “thank you” to Mary (Petey) Lewis, Donna’s loving neighbor and our friend. Mary’s faithful care of Donna, over a span of five years, allowed Donna to remain in her home.
Many thanks to the medical staff of River Edge Rehabilitant and Nursing, Gentiva Hospice, and Hospice of the Shenandoah for their care of Donna.
There will be no memorial services.
We grieve our loss, but are thankful that she is no longer suffering. Donna is supremely happy for all eternity, and we Praise God The Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ BECAUSE:
“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
