Delmas "Moe" Clinton Ritenour

Delmas Clinton Ritenour, affectionally known to the would as Moe, 87, of Strasburg, VA, went to be with Jesus on October 6, 2026.

Born on September 28, 1939, he was the beloved son of the late Burlie and Eunice Ritenour.

Moe served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961, specializing in communications and radio operations. His distinguished service included a high-profile assignment at the Pentagon followed by deployments to West Germany and Congo. For his contributions, he earned the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. His employment was spent in service of AT&T, C & P Telephone company, Bell Atlantic, and Verizon. He was employed in the engineering technician field and attended various computer schools during his employment. During his retirement he went on many mission trips with local churches. He was instrumental in helping build churches in Mexico and Canada. It brought him tremendous joy to accomplish that. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Strasburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mapha Ziants and Linda R. Holsinger.

He is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis Marlene Ritenour; his children Cheryl Ritenour Funkhouser (Barry) and Anthony Ritenour (Keri), all of Strasburg; his grandchildren Stacey Shell Bishop and Ryan Funkhouser of Strasburg; his sisters Deanna Donaldson of Charleston, SC and Alta Stover of Strasburg, VA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mr. Ritenour will be held on Monday October 12, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Keller Cemetery with Reverend Tony Rinker Officiating. Military honors will be given by VFW Post 2447, Edinburg, VA.
