Delford Tharpe

Delford Ray Tharpe, 74, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.He was born on July 27, 1949, in Front Royal and was a son of the late Charles Ashby Tharpe and Mildred Rae Foster Wood.Delford is survived by a son, Timothy W. Tharpe and wife Jennifer of Luray; a daughter, Candy Tharpe of Salem; two brothers, David Allen Wood and wife Becky, and James Malcolm Wood of Rileyville; and two grandchildren, Carlie and Amber Tharpe. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Buddy Wood; a brother, Samuel Tharpe; and a sister, Becky Tharpe.Burial will be in the Bentonville Cemetery.There will be no services.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
