Deborah Ruth (Hinkle) Lockhart

Deborah Ruth “Debbie” (Hinkle) Lockhart, 69, of Verona, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in the Kings Daughters Community Health & Rehabilitation in Staunton.
     Ms. Lockhart was born on June 29, 1956 in Staunton, Virginia a daughter of the late Johnnie Jennings Hinkle and Grace Leota (Bickel) Hinkle.
    “Debbie” enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, car shows and was a train enthusiast.
     In addition to her parents, Ms. Lockhart was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Elizabeth (Hinkle) Jones.
     Ms. Lockhart was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
     Survivors include two sons, Jason Allen Lockhart of Crimora and Eric Shaun Lockhart and his wife Susan of Verona; two grandchildren, Brittany Wuerzberger and LeighAne Wimer and husband Josh; and three great grandchildren, Rylynn Wimer, Carly Wimer and Kyro Rodriguez; Debbie’s significant other, Larry Fitzgerald of Crimora; and her pet cat “Cooper”.
     A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in the Middle River Brethren Cemetery by Reverend William “Bill” Trice.
     The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service, at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
     Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
