Deborah Marie (Bishop) Papotnik
Deborah Marie (Bishop) Papotnik, 58, of Elkton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
She was born on December 4, 1967, and was a daughter of Carl E. Bishop and the late Marie (Doyle) Bishop.
Debbie graduated from Harrisonburg High School. She served her country honorably in the US Army. Debbie received her Masters Degree from Old Dominion University providing her the opportunity to work as a probation officer and then retire as an Investigator with the Rockingham County Sheriff Office. Debbie was actively involved with her church, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and loved her animals. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her two beloved pets, Daisy and Lucy, reading a good book, and going to the movies.
In addition to her father, Deborah is survived by husband, Mark S. Papotnik, of Elkton; brother, Mark Bishop, of Melbourne, FL; aunt, Phyllis Liskey, father-in-law, Larry Papotnik, Sr. and wife Linda; brother-in-law, Larry Papotnik, Jr. and wife Wendy; cousin, Julie Radford and husband Gerard,of Ireland, and numerous cousins from Ireland.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by aunt, Dina Carey.
A memorial service celebrating Deborah's life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Father Silvio Kaberia officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
