David Lee Taylor

David “DJ” Lee Taylor Jr., age 27, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 as a result of an automobile accident.   He was born on February 17, 1996, in Moose Lake, MN, the son of the late David Lee Sr. and Lisa Ann (Sheff) Taylor and Greg and Nellie Delawder, who raised him.
Mr. Taylor was a 2015 graduate of Moorefield High School and was employed at Trex in Winchester, VA.  DJ enjoyed the finer things in life, spending time with his precious son and loving fiancée.  He also enjoyed time with his dog, Daisy May, as he said “that’s a man’s best friend”.  He liked hunting and fishing with his friends and spending most nights in his garage.  DJ loved working on his trucks with his baby boy.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need.  He was patient and kind, truly, an old soul.  He was the best father and fiancée and a fun, loving uncle.  He will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
DJ is survived by his pride and joy, his son, David Lee Taylor III; his fiancée, Kaitlyn Zirkle; 3 brothers, Danny (Channing) Taylor of Petersburg, WV; Brian Taylor of North Carolina; Joshua (Brandi) Delawder; 3 sisters, Sonia Taylor of North Carolina, Lisa Marie Taylor, Leyla Taylor, both of Superior, MN; 5 uncles, Byron “Peanut” (Sandra) Taylor of Rig, WV; Raymond (Joan) Taylor of Burlington, WV; Johnny (Becky) Taylor of Purgitsville, WV; Pastor Brad (Terri) Taylor of Petersburg, WV; Jack (Toni) Sheff of Cloquet, MN; 7 aunts, Brenda Taylor of Petersburg, WV; Deb Taylor of Purgitsville, WV; Martha (Steve) Wolfe of Moorefield, WV; Judy Swick of Petersburg, WV; Nellie (Greg) Delawder of Moorefield, WV; Pat (Sam)Bean of Moorefield, WV; Lori Sheff of Duluth, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his parents, DJ was preceded in death by: grandparents, Martha (Runions) and Herman H. Taylor, Sr.; Renea (Gayken) and Jack Sheff, Jr.; 4 uncles, Herman H. “Buck” Taylor, Jr.; Robert H. Taylor; Wayne M. Wolfe; Roger L. Swick; and an aunt, Molly A. Wolfe.
