Darrell William Bradley
Where do I start? When Darrell was born, he was an angel sent to earth. Darrell cared deeply for so many people and had a passion to care for animals, especially those that were lost and injured. Darrell was kind, gentle and hardworking. He is inarguably the most dedicated, compassionate, and the truly genuine person that most of us have ever known; anyone who was a part of his life was given a gift – his laughter, kindness and joy were unique and his friendship and loyalty, one-of-a-kind. His part in all our lives is irreplaceable. Darrell lost his hard-fought battle with Glioblastoma at home with his Laura, Eric, and Haley by his side.
As Darrell leaves this world and enters heaven, the line to greet and hug him will be very long with all of those that we have also loved and lost. For those of us left behind, we will experience heartbreak, pain, and suffering but Darrell would want all of us to remember the good times and live our lives as he would have – singing, with kindness, compassion, and to never be afraid of hard and honest work. This disease took Darrell from us too soon and too quickly. Everyone feels at a loss as to what to do next because this all seems so unfair. Please consider donating to UVA Brain Cancer Research to help others fight or also the Augusta County SPCA Spay and Neuter clinic.
Darrell leaves behind so many; Laura Tait, his partner and best friend, Eric Squier his “son”, Haley Tait Henderson, his “daughter” and her husband, Steve Henderson. His loving siblings Harold Bradley, Jr., David Bradley and wife, Amy, Cheryl Perry and her husband, Nathan, who was Darrell’s BEST friend, and Wilma Bradley. Extended family, Jim and Genie Capps, Kelly Tait, Andrew Tait, Teri and Mark Conlon as well as many nieces and nephews: Harold Bradley III, Travis Bradley, Josh Bradley, Nathan Perry, Jr., Jamie Laroche and Joel Bradley, Mary Helen Rogers, Robert and Amanda Tait, Mark, Jon, Katie Conlon, Ashley Tait, Lizzy Tait and all of their families. Darrell’s uncle Kenneth Bradley, his many cousins, and countless friends. Additionally, the many beloved pets that will miss his cuddles and belly rubs.
Darrell began working at an early age helping at “the fruit stand”, working construction with his beloved late father Harold Thurman Bradley and Nathan Perry, Virginia Metalcrafters, and Augusta Regional Landfill.
Darrell touched the lives of his family, friends, and co-workers so deeply that the hole left in all our hearts will never fully heal. Everyone that has been blessed to know and love him needs to lean on each other because we all know Darrell would want us to all stay connected.
