Darrell "D.W." Waynlee Tomlin

Darrell Waynlee “D.W.” Tomlin, 66, of Crimora, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Shenandoah Hospice House. He was born in Augusta County on November 24, 1959, a son of the late Wayne Lee Tomlin and Evelyn Elaine (Harris) Tomlin Fitzgerald.

D.W. was employed by Richardson Wayland Electrical and retired as an Electrical Linesman with VDOT servicing all the traffic lights across Virginia. He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on his model trains, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Survives include his loving wife of 15 years, Desiree D. Tomlin; son, Darrell Tomlin, Jr.; daughter, Destony Tomlin; brothers, Grayson “Tony” Tomlin, William L. Tomlin and wife, Deborah, and Michael Tomlin; three grandsons; two granddaughters; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, treasured friends and coworkers. D.W. also leaves behind for four legged friend, Hudson.

Following cremation, the family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 2pm until 4pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Augusta Health and Carilion of Roanoke Hospital and to Dr. Christopher Heck and the nursing staff with Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their compassionate care of D.W. and his family.
