Daniel Joseph King

Daniel Joseph King, 72, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at UVA, due to complications from surgery.

He was born on April 1, 1954, and was a son of the late Anthony J. "Lefty" and Hilda M. (MacDonald) King.

Dan joined the US Navy on August 30, 1972 until October 18, 1976, serving his country honorably for four years. Dan attended Old Dominion University while serving in the US Navy and later graduated from North Eastern University in Boston, MA.

Dan was a warm, caring, and loving husband. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

Daniel was united in marriage on May 1, 1999, to Patsy (Hartman) King, who survives.

Daniel is also survived by stepsons, Donnie Fulton and Ronnie Fulton, daughter, Danielle (Rob) Finn; grandchildren, Addison Fulton, Parker Fulton, Zoe Finn; sisters, Mary King and Diane (Russel) Pugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" King, and a sister, Elaine Spencer.

The family will receive friends between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Annex Fellowship Church, with Pastor Richard Grendahl officiating.
