Dale D. Reel

Dale Delano Reel, age 82 of Rig, WV passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, MD.

Dale was born on April 3, 1941 in Petersburg, WV, Dale was the son of the late David Veretta Reel and Edith Katherine “Sue” (Crites) Reel. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Nancy (Kimble) Reel in 2008; one grandson, Jacob Whetzel, one infant great grandson, Braxton Reel.

Dale is survived by two sons, Leonard Reel (Kim) of Petersburg, WV and Galen (Cara) Reel of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Rev. Tammy (Rev. Jack) Turner of Rig, WV and Kimberly (Delmas II) Whetzel of Arthur, WV; thirteen grandchildren, Adam Reel, Spencer Reel, Brandon Reel, Kinnsley Reel, Danielle Turner, Dale Ray Turner, Timothy Turner, Logan Reel, Makalyn Reel, Brylee Reel,  Gracin Reel; Delmas Whetzel III, Levi Whetzel; sixteen great grandchildren.

Dale began cutting pulpwood with his dad and later cut right of ways for the power lines.  He later worked for American Woodmark and retired after 27 years. He attended the Moorefield Church of God.  

Funeral service will be Sunday 11:00 a.m. July 9, 2023, in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Revs. Jack and Tammy Turner officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in Crites-Eye Cemetery, Rig, WV.
