Crystal Sherry Gonyier

Crystal Sherry Gonyier-Walkowiak, beloved wife and mother unexpectedly passed away on January 2, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior, creating an absence and gap no one can fill.   
Crystal was born in Panorama City, California in 1985 to the late Lena Mary Branch and Kenneth Edward Gonyier. Like a shooting star, she made a quick entry in the world and departed just as fast, 40 years later. May her love and light live on in the lives of others whose lives she touched. 
Crystal is survived by her husband, Michael Walkowiak, 7 years, and beloved children, Emmet Patrick 10, Lyla Paige 15, and bonus daughter, Piper Leigh 16, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia.
In addition, Crystal is survived by her bonus parents, Darrell & Sheila Walkowiak, sister, Danielle Farmer (Bobby) and nephew, Liam; her brother Michael Gonyier (Liz) and niece, Lisa (California); her mom’s sister, Aunt Victoria Branch; Sister in-laws Sarah Walkowiak (Travis) and nieces, Brooke and Autumn Cash; LaShawn Painter; Mike Painter and niece, Erin, extended and adopted family, and friends.  
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John Hamric.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at ClearView Church, 9 Cottonwood Lane, Fishersville, Virginia 22939, for light refreshments.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
