Connie Ann Shorter Fahey
Connie Ann (Shorter) Fahey, 58, of Staunton, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Ms. Fahey was born in Mercer County, West Virginia on December 8, 1964, a daughter of the late Junior Basil Shorter and Joyce Ann (Tester) Shorter.
Connie was a registered nurse beginning her career at Kingās Daughters Hospital and then at Augusta Medical Center where she worked for twenty-five years. Following Augusta Medical Center, Connie worked at Veterans Affairs Salem VAMC as the chief nurse of primary care. At the time of her passing, Connie was employed with UVA.
Connie loved to share her knowledge of nursing. She was a preceptor to many and also taught the RN to BSN program at EMU prior to the pandemic.
Surviving, is a son, M. Travis Wimer and his wife Jessica; and a daughter, Skylynn Wimer. In addition, she leaves behind grandsons, Daegon and Gage Wimer; granddaughter, Paisley; granddaughters who will never know her, Joy and Mia Wimer and their father, Clint Wimer. She is survived by a brother, Basil Shorter; a sister, Kathy Selmon and her husband, Nathan; nieces, Brittany, Shelby (Dakota), and Shannon (Robert); nephews, Leland (Moriah) and Little Nathan; a special great-niece and great-nephew Laniee and Bentley; great-niece, Knoxley and great-nephew, Kolt.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Todd Latham.
Per her wishes, we will play āI can see clearly now, the rain is goneā.
