Clarissa Luba McKenzie

July 2, 1963 - June 17, 2023

Clarissa Luba McKenzie, 59, wife of Jack T. McKenzie, of Waynesboro, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her residence. 
Mrs. McKenzie was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on July 2, 1963, a daughter of the late Boris and Margie (Clark) Zawhorodny.
Clarissa was known to be a loving, nurturing mother, a great cook, and a charismatic cosmetologist. She loved helping people and animals. Mrs. McKenzie was strong in her faith, which led to her strong principles and loving, caring, and giving nature. She took pride in treating everyone equally. Mrs. McKenzie will be remembered as spontaneous, courageous, fearless, steadfast and brilliant. 
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy McKenzie; a sister, Becky Zawhorodny; and three brothers, John Zawhorodny, Victor Zawhorodny, and Mike Zawhorodny.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 37 years, are five children, David McKenzie, Erica McKenzie, Stephanie McKenzie, Victoria Gonzalez and her husband, Hugo, and Oliver McKenzie; two brothers, Steve Zawhorodny and Mark Zawhorodny; three sisters, Rosa Stevens, Carol Root, and Barbara Ann Rose; and four grandchildren, Elijah McKenzie, Samson Zazai, Maria Gonzalez, and Theodore Gonzalez.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Irish Creek Community Cemetery in Vesuvius.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
