Clarence Browning "Brownie" Sions
Clarence Browning “Brownie” Sions, age 92, of Cabins, WV went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Brownie was born on September 9, 1930 in Bayard, WV the son of the late Cread Delton Sions and Vesta (Wolfe) Sions. In addition to his parents, Brownie was preceded in death by his infant brother Cread Ernest and Stepmother, Vanda Sions.
Brownie married Jeannette (Weese) Sions on August 9, 1949 who preceded him in death on May 1, 2023. They enjoyed 73 years of making memories with family, friends, hunting, traveling, enjoying ice cream and Buckwheat cakes.
Brownie is survived by:
One daughter Vesta Alexander (David) of Weeki Wachee, Florida
One son Bradley Delton Sions (Kay) of Petersburg, WV
One sister Alice Ann Sions Guyon of Petersburg, WV
Six Grandchildren: Joshua Alexander, Jill Alexander Bodkins, Jon Alexander, Kevin Sions, Jennifer Sions and Sherry Sions Whetzel.
Fourteen Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Brownie was a 1948 graduate of Petersburg High School. He attended Fairmont State College where he played football. Brownie worked and managed Southern States for many years retiring from there in 1993. He was an avid sportsman who spent many hours enjoying God’s creation with gardening, hunting, and fishing. For several years he guided elk hunts in Wyoming. Brownie was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee.
Mr. Sions family will receive friends Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6 – 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11 AM at the Petersburg First Baptist Church with Pastor Shannon Earle, Pastor Frank Ketterman, Pastor Kevin Sions.
Interment will follow in the Bayard Cemetery, Bayard, WV.
