Charlotte A. Riffo

CHURCHVILLE – Charlotte Ann (Strickler) Riffo, 84, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Born March 7, 1941 in Staunton, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Jesse Willard Strickler and Elizabeth Kathleen (Simmons) Strickler. She was a 1958 graduate of Churchville High School. On August 15, 1959, she married John Howard Riffo; they celebrated 65 years of marriage last summer. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Donald Timberlake. She attended Glossbrenner United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Dwayne E. “Bud” Riffo (wife Dana) of Waynesboro, and Keith A. Riffo (wife Carrie) of Staunton; a brother, W. Wayne Strickler of Churchville; and five grandchildren, Christopher Riffo, Sarah Fitzgerald (husband Daniel), Alia Riffo, Laura Riffo (boyfriend Caleb Pearson), and Ethan Riffo (fiancée Katie Kirk). She also leaves her two precious dogs, “Teddy” and “Tubby.”

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Lester Kennedy.  Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Dwayne, Keith, Christopher and Ethan Riffo, Daniel Fitzgerald, and Warren Harper.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at the funeral home.
