Charles "Johnny" Price Sellers

Charles "Johnny" "Pappy" Price Sellers, 95, of Grottoes, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

He was born on December 27, 1927 and was a son of the late Ruben and Ina (Armentrout) Sellers.

Charles retired from Amerigas after 42 years of service. After retirement he went on to work another twelve years for the City of Harrisonburg. He served his country in the Air Force.

Charles was united in marriage on Sept. 24, 1949 to Caressa (Calhoun) Sellers, who preceded him in death on May 21, 2007.

Charles is survived by a granddaughter, Bonnie Gibson and husband, Michael; two great-grandchildren, Christian Gibson, and Caressa Gibson; son-in-law, Larry Kyger and wife, Deborah; granddaughter-in-law, Sharon Gibson.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Kyger; brother, Merle Sellers; sister, Ruby Mitchell.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.

A graveside service celebrating Charles's life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 15th at Keezletown Cemetery, with Pastor Phillip Painter officiating.
