Charles Elbon

Charles W. Elbon, 77, of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center. 

A graveside service for Charles will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Toms Brook Cemetery with Rev. Derek Ritenour officiating.  The family suggests everyone wear something purple in memory of Charles and his love for the Strasburg Rams.

Charles was born March 10, 1946, a son of the late Joseph Daniel and Eva Belle Taylor Elbon.  He was a member of the Mt. Calvary United Church of Christ, an avid fan of the Strasburg Rams, Washington Commanders (Redskins), New York Yankees, and Notre Dame. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lauren Elbon. 

Survivors include his loving wife of over 55 years Linda Ritenour Elbon; his son Chris Elbon (Lawana); his granddaughters Jackie Elbon and Maria Elbon all of Strasburg, VA ; a sister-in-law Cindy Rankin (Bill) and a niece Anna Rankin all of Middletown, VA.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Strasburg Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 620, Strasburg, VA 22657 or Strasburg Fire Department, P. O. Box 347, Strasburg, VA 22657.
