Charles Andrew (Saul) Rexrode
Charles Andrew (Saul) Rexrode, 92, husband of Jaunita Showalter Rexrode, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Rexrode was born in Monterey, Virginia on July 25, 1930, the son of the late Fleet Rexrode and Lona (Eye) Rexrode.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1950-1954 on the AF-28 refrigeration ship. He was employed with Smith’s Transfer for over 20 years and served as a reserve police officer with the Staunton Police Department. Mr. Rexrode’s happiest days were spent with family and friends at Twin Acres Hunting Camp in Highland County. He loved his children and family dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rexrode was preceded in death by two sons, Charles “J” Rexrode and an infant son; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Joy Masincup.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 69 years, are two daughters, Angie Rawley and Jo Masincup; seven grandchildren, Shawn Rexrode, Heather Graves, Matthew Rawley, Jennifer Young, Kat Eller, Tara Brown, and Andrew Masincup; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Cedar Hill Cemetery (60 Wildcat Drive, Franklin, West Virginia).
