Charlene Renell Cline

Charlene Renell Cline, 57, wife of Steven Boyd Cline, of Crimora, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2023 in Richmond.

Mrs. Cline was born in Staunton, Virginia on August 24, 1965, a daughter of Carolyn Elizabeth Knott and the late Lacy Eugene Sutler.

Charlene was a member of Faith Christian Church. She had a heart of gold, would do anything for anyone, and always made sure no one went hungry. Charlene loved her pugs and enjoyed reading, crafting, and shopping, especially at yard sales and thrift stores. Christmas was her favorite time of year and watching Hallmark Christmas movies brought her so much joy.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Viola Greaver Rexrode and James Henry Rexrode; her paternal grandparents, Ethel Sutler and Lacy Sutler, Sr.; and her step-father, Alfred Knott.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, is a son, “D.W.” Barton; a daughter, Candace Clarke; a sister, Star Bird; an aunt, Connie Swisher; grandchildren, Desiree Horton, Seairra Booth, Ashton Booth, Elijah Barton, Kiley Barton, Emma Barton, Madison Barton, and Araya Barton; a niece, Amber Carter; a nephew, Justin Carter; a great-niece, Presley Carter; a great-nephew, Jaxson Carter; her mother-in-law, Nancy Cline; best friends, Lydia Booth and Deanna Valentine; the many friends of her children that she took in as her own; and her beloved dog, Rocky.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Faith Christian Church by Rev. Warren Knott.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
