Cecil Hill (Doyle) Nuckols

June 18, 1927 - May 27, 2025

Cecil Hill (Doyle) Nuckols, 97, widow of Herbert T. Nuckols, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville. 
Mrs. Nuckols was born in Augusta County, Virginia on June 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Robert Franklin Doyle and Lottie Mae (Cash) Doyle.
Cecil was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and retired from Kings Daughters Hospital as a Licensed Practicing Nurse. In retirement, she gave generously of her time as a volunteer at the local food bank. She found joy in quilting, tending her flower garden, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Nuckols was preceded in death by three sisters and brothers-in law, Mable Kutz and her husband Harry, Alma Moran and her husband, Arnold, and Mary Shifflett and her husband, Harry; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry and Elmer Doyle and his wife, Louise; five half-brothers; six half-sisters; two brothers-in-law, Archie Barnett and Jimmy Jones; and a son-in-law, Wayne Painter.
 Surviving, is a daughter, Terasa N. “Teddy” Painter of Stuarts Draft; three sisters, Estie Barnett, Jo Miller and her husband, Ben, and Betty Jones all of Stuarts Draft; a sister-in-law, Frances Doyle; three grandchildren, Angela Clymore and her husband, David, Lana Painter, and Chip Painter; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Defibaugh, Lauren Rathburn (Wes), Zach Clymore, Lottie Obst, and Peyton Mays; four great-great-grandchildren, Bailey Blackwell, Chance Rathburn, Ella Rathburn, and Aurellia “Ce Ce” Sanders; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Mrs. Scarlett Danraj.
The family will receive friends following the service. 
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank you” to the staff at the Shenandoah Hospice House for the care and compassion shown to Mrs. Nuckols.
