Catherine Graham

WEST AUGUSTA – Catherine Wall (Serrett) Graham, 85, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Catherine was born in Staunton on September 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Elwood Lewis and Georgia Helen (Hall) Serrett. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School.

Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an active member of Waynesboro Advent Christian Church where she developed many fond friendships. She was employed at Clem and Company Real Estate for a number of years, and retired from Buckhorn Inn.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, R. Ray Graham; sons Lewis Graham (Erica) of West Augusta and Bill Graham (Kathy) of Roanoke; a sister with whom she shared a special bond, Barbara Robson of Staunton; grandchildren Luke and Caleb Graham; nieces Cindy Thacker and Lora Swortzel; and many more nieces and nephews by marriage.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home, with Larry King and Chaplain Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Deerfield Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Augusta Health Hospice, and to caregivers Kimberly Martin and Bonnie Graham, for their compassionate care of Catherine.
