Carroll Zirkle

Carroll R. Zirkle, 81, of Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Maryland on August 1, 1943, a son of the late Carl Zirkle and Mildred Elizabeth (Melvin) Jerrell.

Carroll worked as a painter for Ingleside and in the janitorial department of Days Inn. He also was employed as a truck driver with Mr. P in Indiana. Carroll was a devoted Christian and attended Return Church when he lived in Clarksville, Indiana. His hobbies included reading his Bible, cheering on his Redskins, and loving on his dog, Nala.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carroll R. Zirkle, Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife. Doris Jean Gilbert Zirkle; children: Stacey L. Gilbert and wife, Rebecca, Timothy D. Kelley and wife, Nancy, Teresa, Preston Zirkle, Sharon Driver, Josh Zirkle; grandchildren, Bethany Lotts and husband, Michael , Josh Gilbert, and Sarah Roberts ; great grandchildren, Carsyn and Noah Lotts; siblings, Fred Zirkle and wife, Katrina and Judi Ward; numerous additional grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special cousin, Margie Lund; as well as extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday February 25, 2025 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Strickler officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memory Gardens and Mausoleums.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
