Carl Edward Diehl

Carl Edward Diehl, 84, of Grottoes, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Penn laird, on July 16, 1939 and was a son of the late Ivan Early and Lillian (Watson) Diehl.

Carl graduated from Montevideo High School, and attended the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. He worked as a Radioman until retirement. He enjoyed painting pictures, and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed teaching friends and family his skills. He loved spoiling his four-legged puppies. Also he enjoyed spending quality time with his grand babies and reading from the Bible with them. Carl was known for being a very eccentric type of person and would do anything to get a laugh out of people.

On May 14, 1974 he was united in marriage to Eva (Allen) Diehl, who survives.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by daughters, Annie (Courtney) Sinclair and Carla (Israel) Stickley; sisters Janet and Annalee and brother Glen; grandchildren, Skylar Sinclair, LillyAnn Stickley, LacyDru Stickley; Sandy, a dear cousin and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, 30th of December, 2023 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Grottoes.
