Candace Wayburn Miller Wade

Candace Wayburn (Miller) Wade, 83, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Born March 23, 1943 in Staunton, she was a daughter of Florence Aletha (Miller) Sensabaugh.

Candace was employed as business administrator and bookkeeper for Knopp Enterprises for 28 years prior to retirement. She was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church. On September 3, 1960 she married Hugh Love Wade, Jr., who preceded her in death on February 9, 2019.

She was also preceded in death by her mother; her stepfather, Roy Sensabaugh; and a sister, Pamela Rankin. Surviving are two sons, H. L. Wade III and wife Jill of Fort Defiance, and Philip Wade and wife Jennifer of Swoope; brothers Franklin Sensabaugh and wife Patricia of Staunton, and Michael Calhoun and wife Donna of Churchville; three grandsons, Patrick Wade, Jaden Love Wade, and Payton Anthony Wade; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 2 in Glossbrenner United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Lester Kennedy. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Calhoun, Patrick and Jaden Wade, Bill Duke, Roy Combs, and Jeff Cale.

The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in Bear Funeral Home.
