Bruce Derek Casiday

Bruce Derek Casiday, 42, of Swoope, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the VCU Medical Center in Richmond. 
Mr. Casiday was born in Staunton, Virginia on February 19, 1981, a son of Bruce Alfred Casiday and Debra Kay (Maybush) Seal.
Derek was giving, caring, and lighthearted; he could make anyone laugh in any situation. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them as often as he could. Derek enjoyed his Mustangs, working on cars, and NASCAR, especially Kyle Busch.
Mr. Casiday is survived by his father, Bruce Casiday (Sharon Marshall); his mother, Debra Kay (Maybush) Seal (Barry Powers); a brother, Derrer Seal, Jr.; a grandmother, Rosa Cox (James Henderson); and numerous aunts and uncles, including a special aunt, Cindy Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Todd Yoder. 
A private burial will be held in Augusta Memorial Park. 
Active pallbearers will be Alan Losh, Bobby Armstrong, Jeremy Cook, Cory Bowden, Larry Hostetter, and Hook Elkins.
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank you” to the staff at VCU Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to Derek and his family.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
