Brenda Demory Law
Brenda Demory Law, 62, of Staunton, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the Regency at Augusta in Fishersville. Brenda was born in Waynesboro on March 10, 1964, daughter of Anna (Ellison) Demory and the late Francis L. Demory. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an Awana volunteer and was actively involved in Vacation Bible School and the church's youth group. Her faith and dedication to serving others touched the lives of many children and families over the years. For 25 years, Brenda worked as a guidance counselor at Churchville Elementary School, where she made a lasting difference in the lives of countless students through her compassion, wisdom, and encouragement. She found great joy in gardening and was an avid cinephile with a special love for classic films. Brenda had an incredible knowledge of movie facts and trivia and enjoyed sharing her passion for cinema with others. Music also held a special place in her heart and brought her much happiness throughout her life. Above all, Brenda was a loving mother who was always present for her family. She was a loyal and caring friend to many, offering kindness, support, and a welcoming spirit to everyone she met. Her legacy of faith, service, love, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Molly F. Law, Sarah K. Law, and Jessica E. Fosdick and her husband, Matt T. Fosdick; granddaughter, Genevieve R. Fosdick; brothers, David L. Demory and Bryan E. Demory; and her best friend, Maggie M. Davison. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Michael Nay. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brenda’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western VA Chapter, 1010 Ednam Center Suites 203 & 204, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
