Bonnie Burnette

Bonnie Burnette, 81, of Waynesboro, went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Shenandoah House of Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born October 2, 1943, in Augusta County, daughter of the late Ray Burns and Stella Burns.

Bonnie was a 1961 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and she retired from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center where she had served as a bookkeeper from May 18, 1993 until her retirement on April 22, 2011. She attended Edward Avenue Baptist Church, Waynesboro.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Calvin Burnette, mother-in-law, Hilda Burnette, sisters, Josephine Fitzgerald, Nancy Furr and Mary Simmons and her sister and brother-in-law, Judy Tomlin and Julian Tomlin.

Survivors include her husband, Carol B. Burnette; her sons, Wayne Burnette of London and Scott Burnette (Lizann) of Raphine, Virginia; her two special granddaughters, Molly Burnette and Chloie Burnette; her step-grandson, Cody Hill; her sisters, Mae Eppard (Billy), Linda Dinges (Steve) and her brother-in-law, Larry Burnette.

The family will receive friends from 9:30AM until 10:30AM, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, after which the family and friends will process to Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro where there will be a Graveside Service at 11:00AM conducted by Pastor Gary May.
