Beverly Riley Fitzgerald, 71, of Raphine, Virginia passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born on April 19, 1955, in McKinley, Virginia, to the late Albert and Margaret Riley. Beverly graduated from Riverheads High School and attended Dunsmore Business School in Staunton. She worked for many years in the cafeteria for multiple elementary schools in Rockbridge and Augusta Counties ultimately retiring from Stuarts Draft Elementary School as Cafeteria Manager. Beverly was a faithful member of the Raphine Christian Church where she enjoyed participating in many church mission and outreach programs. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Donald Keith Fitzgerald; her sons, Timothy K. Fitzgerald and his wife, Michelle and Jonathan Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Sarah; her sister, Jeannie Hearn and her husband, Larry; her brother, Gary Riley and his wife, Debbie; her grandchildren, Jackson and Eliza Fitzgerald, Avery and Riley Tullo, and Preston and Allison Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis “Buck” Riley. A celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Raphine Christian Church, 5131 Lee Jackson Hwy, Greenville, Virginia with Reverend Gregory Czerniak officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Steeles Tavern, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Riverheads Elementary Weekday Religious Program (PO Box 352, Greenville, VA 24440). Henry Funeral Home in Staunton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
