Beverly Boyer
Beverly Ann Bergey Boyer, 89, of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Lynn Care Center of Front Royal, VA.
A funeral service for Mrs. Boyer will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Walnut Springs Christian Church with Rev. Wendell Schurtz officiating.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Beverly was born in Mexico, Pennsylvania on November 20, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert Haldeman and Marvel Ulsh Bergey. Beverly lived in Mifflintown, PA until the age of seven when her family moved to Strasburg, VA. She was a member of the Strasburg Christian Church and worked as a nurse at Winchester Medical Center many years and also worked as a private scrub nurse for Dr. William Pifer. Beverly was part of the Club 15 group of local ladies in Strasburg. She served as a former PTA president and worked concessions for the Strasburg Little League for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Jack Eugene Boyer, their beloved dog Chipper, and siblings Mervin Bergey, John Peter Bergey, and Marcy Bergey Baylis.
Survivors include her beloved children, Jackie B. Pomeroy (Pete) of Front Royal, VA, and Robert “Bobby” Hopewell Boyer (Sue) of Capon Bridge, WV; her grandchildren, Jeremy A. Spiker, James Cody Pomeroy, Lauren Hackett, Becca Moore, Evelyn Boyer, Sarah Parks, Zachary Boyer, Chad Ashton, and Joshua Ashton; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings Bob Bergey (Claudett) of Waynesboro, and Roger Bergey (Pam) of Harrisonburg along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Spiker, Cody Pomeroy, Wyatt Spiker, Romano Bergey, Barry Bergey, Brian Bergey, and Zachary Boyer.
