Beverly Bolling Sayre

May 12, 1933 - August 26, 2023

Beverly Bolling Sayre, 90, widow of Ray R. Sayre, Jr. of Waynesboro, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at her residence.
Mrs. Sayre was born in Augusta County, Virginia on May 12, 1933, the daughter of the late John M. and Katherine S. Bolling.
Growing up on Centerhill Farm in Churchville, she was an avid horsewoman and loved her constant companion “ole Pete”. She loved her life on Crystal Springs Farm working alongside her husband, Ray and spending weekends at their camp “Hiawatha”. She and Ray spent winters fishing and shrimping on Edisto Island, S.C. and developed relationships that lasted a lifetime. 
As an only child, she was welcomed into the Sayre family and gained 6 sisters whom she loved dearly. Sundays after church were spent at Crystal Springs with family luncheons. The farm house was filled with the laughter of children and stories of past times. 
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sayre was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Ray R. and Irene F. Sayre. 
Surviving, are her children, Renee Flint and her husband, George of Waynesboro, VA, Ray R. “Chip” Sayre, III and his wife, Suzanne, of Staunton, VA, Kathryn “Kitty” Knight and her husband, Bruce of Charlotte, NC, and Cindy Roberts and her husband, Larry of Fishersville, VA; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren whom she cherished greatly.
A private service will be held in Tinkling Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
