Betty Louise Hoover Coffman

Betty Louise (Hoover) Coffman, age 82 of Petersburg, WV went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Grant Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

Betty was born on November 8, 1940 in Keyser, WV and was a daughter of the late Virgil Charles Hoover and Celia Frances (Aronhalt) Hoover. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband William “Eddie” Coffman in 2018; one son, Douglas Lee Burgess and one sister, Mary Frances Alt.

Betty is survived by five daughters, Donna Bodkins of Fisher, WV, Frances Hall of Grand Rapids, MI, Teresa Coffman of Burton, MI, Peggy Coffman of Flint, MI and Carol Sue Alt and husband Trent of Upper Tract, WV; three sons, Butch Coffman and wife Karen of Keyser, WV, Chris Coffman and wife Crystal of San Diego, CA and Donald Burgess of Mt. Storm, WV; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and two furry babies; one sister, Nellie “Snap” Riley of Keyser, WV; several nieces and nephews.

Betty was owner/ operator of Mt Storm Lodge and was manager of the Mt Storm VFW for several years. Then she was a cook for Heartland Nursing Home in Keyser, WV and later Grant County Nursing Home. Her passion was always cooking for others and traveling with her daughter Donna. She was a member of Oak Dale Christian Church.

Betty’s family will receive friends Tuesday May 9, 2023 from 5 -8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
