Betty Fultz Moomau

November 5, 1938 - November 10, 2023

Betty Ann Fultz Moomau, 85, widow of Franklin Delano Moomau, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, November 10, 2023, in Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond. She was born on November 5, 1938, in Swoope to the late Howard Newton Fultz, Sr. and Thelma Loretta Davis Fultz Helmick.Betty was a dedicated member of Christ United Methodist Church and actively participated in her church community. Betty was particularly involved in helping with Thursday meals for the shut-ins, displaying her kindness and compassion towards others. She also continued her husband's "cross" ministry, spreading love and faith to those around her.Growing up, Betty received her education from Wilson Memorial High School where she graduated with the Class of 1954. She maintained strong connections with her graduating class and regularly met with them over the years. Betty's dedication extended to the professional world as well. She retired as the president of P&M Office Specialty after having worked previously at Rockingham National Bank.Beyond her professional accomplishments and community involvement, Betty had a variety of interests and hobbies that brought joy to her life. She loved playing bingo, finding excitement in every game she played. However, the true joys of Betty's life were undoubtedly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who consistently brought smiles to her face.She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Gay Moomau Lucus (Joe) and Theresa Ann Moomau Gosnell (Wayne); her son, Dennis Franklin Moomau (Teresa), her grandchildren Ryan Brady (Lesley), Sean Brady, Crissy Monger (Brad), and Mandy Borden (S.J.); her great-grandchildren Savanna Monger, Emmalyn Monger, Keira Brady, Declan Brady, Conor Brady, Olivia Brady, Ella Brady, Jakob Borden and Lainey Borden; her step-grandchildren Colby Bosserman (Laken), Courtney Altizer (Johnny); her step-great grandchildren, Kayton Altizer, Kimber Altizer, Hallie Bosserman, and Nash Bosserman; her sister, Velma Estelle Fultz Kuykendall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Howard "Shorty" Newton Fultz, Jr. and Charles Woodrow Fultz.The family receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Christ United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Christ United Methodist Church by Reverend Madison Ailinger, Reverend Don Carlton and Reverend Ed Pruett, Sr. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Brady, Sean Brady, Brad Monger, S.J. Borden, Johnny Altizer, Colby Bosserman, Lyle Houser, Jr. and Donnie Houser. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elective Bible Study Sunday School Class and Wilson Memorial School Class of 1954.
