Barbara Jean Miller Schuckman
Barbara Jean Miller Schuckman passed away on Monday March 9, 2026, at Viva Senior Living in Stafford, Virginia.
She was born on November 5, 1949, in Harrisonburg to the late Alfred A. and Joy Kathryn (Good) Miller.
Barbara married Charles R "Buck" Schuckman on March 26, 1983, who survives. Barbara was a graduate of Broadway High School.
Barbara retired from the Human Services department of Prince William County School district where she served as a teacher /staff recruiter
Barbara enjoyed gardening, watching old westerns, her many beloved cocker spaniels and her annual trips to Aruba, reconnecting with her many friends she made over 20 years of visiting the island and the annual trip to Ocean City, Maryland for the Sunfest Festival.
Barbara had a big heart working with and donating to OBG (Oldies but Goodies) cocker spaniel rescue, donating for various local animal shelters, shopping for Toys for Tots, taking the tags and buying the gifts requested on the Christmas Wish Trees in various stores and buying pre-made meals for the less fortunate at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Peggy Thorn and Nancy Lorenzen.
In addition to her husband, Buck, she is survived by daughter Michelle Reday and husband Ahmed of Fairfax, nieces Kim Pierce and Terri Lorenzen of Stephens City, Angela Thorn of Winchester, and nephews Roger Thorn and David Lorenzen of Stephens City, Dan Thorn of Winchester and sister-in-law Susan Schuckman of Bridgewater, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her very special friend, especially as her health deteriorated, Karen Watts of Dale City as well as Rachel and Carol Watts of Stafford and Angelia Watts of Dumfries.
Family will receive friends between 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater, Virginia.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday March 21, 2026, at Summit Church Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Craver officiating.
