Barbara Jean (Davis) Davidson
Barbara Jean (Davis) Davidson, 82, wife of William Amos “Billy” Davidson, of Stuarts Draft, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fishersville.
Mrs. Davidson was born on April 5, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia the daughter of the late William Clarence and Roxie Lillian (Gammon) Davis.
Barbara was a member of West Waynesboro Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with her family. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping, square dancing, and sewing. Barbara and her family shared many memories of their time playing cards and dominoes. She also shared many of her well-loved recipes with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her son, Glen Davidson; three brothers, Melvin Davis, Oral Cocke, and Herbert Cocke; and a sister, Janice Dalton.
Surviving in addition to her husband of sixty-three years is her daughter, Kathy Mongold, and her husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Michael Brydge, Kristin Fitzgerald, Brittany Gordon and her husband, Daniel; and Morgan Shank and her husband, Kurtis; great-grandchildren, Wesley Thompson (Madison), Dylan Baker, Devin Baker, Neveah Fitzgerald (Austin), Ciara Fitzgerald, Damien Moneymaker, Sully Gordon, and Elliot Shank; great-great grandchildren, Elliana Thompson and Baby boy Hanger who is due in September; sister-in-law, Agnes Davis; special cousin, Judy Yeatts and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at West Waynesboro Church of Christ in Waynesboro by Jeff Woodie and grandson, Michael Brydge. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Gretna Burial Park in Gretna, Virginia.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
