Barbara Foote

Barbara Blakemore Foote, 87, of Fishersville, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2023 at her home. She was born on April 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Charles Bodley and Sue Ellen (Ramsey) Blakemore.

Barbara worked as an assistant at Dr. McKibben office. She was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church and volunteered for many of their outreach programs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Foote; brother, Charles Benjamin Blakemore, and daughter, Suzette Colon.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Stevens and husband, Kenny; step-son, William “Billy” Foote; grandchildren, Cassandra Marie Rankin and Benjamin Coursey and his wife, Emily; step- grandchildren, Trevor Foote and wife, Christina and Tyler Foote; great grandchildren: Holland, Isaac, and Charles Coursey; step- great great grandchildren: Taylor, Bryson, Cohen Foote; special friends and caregivers: Tina Gorden, Sue Holmes, and Tabby Cox; as well as extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Fishersville United Methodist Church, 1600 Jefferson Hwy, Fishersville, with Pastor Peter Choi officiating. Burial will be held privately follow the service in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Benjamin Coursey, Holland Coursey, Isaac Coursey, Charles Coursey, and Chase Hammer.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff with Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving care of Barbara and her family.
