Barbara Ellen (Peterson) Eberts

Barbara Ellen (Peterson) Eberts, 76, wife of William Albert “Bill” Eberts, of Staunton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. 
Mrs. Eberts was born in York County, South Carolina on December 8, 1948, a daughter of the late Jack Corbett Peterson, Sr. and Beulah Mae (Henson) Peterson. 
Barbara spent most of her career as a trucking dispatcher and H. R. Director for Crosby Trucking, where she met the love of her life, Bill. She and Bill enjoyed travelling, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains and Myrtle Beach. She was an avid reader, loved watching baseball, and playing cards. 
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving, in addition to her beloved husband of 19 years, is a sister, Mary Tyree (David) of Staunton; a brother, James Peterson (Janet) of Weyers Cave; nieces and nephews, Kim Moyers (Travis) of Greenville, Gina Leach (Chris) of Deerfield, Paula Tyree-Bowman (Mark) of Lexington, Heather Peterson (Carl Richardson) of Waynesboro, Joe Tyree (Emilee) of Fishersville, and Jamey Peterson (Kimberly) of Pennellville, NY; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. 
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 48 Meadow Glen Drive, Staunton, VA.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
