Art "Pappy" Wayne Gregory

Art Wayne “Pappy” Gregory, 69, husband of Annette (Marshall) Gregory, of Crawford Drive in Churchville, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Albemarle Health and Rehab in Charlottesville.
Mr. Gregory was born in Richmond, Virginia on February 16, 1956, a son of the late Medford Gregory and Barbara (Lilly) Etter. 
Art was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene. He had a diverse career, starting at 7-11 on West Beverly Street, before moving on to work at the Augusta Correctional Center, and later serving as a mental health specialist at Liberty Point. Outside of work, Art enjoyed spending his free time fishing, camping, playing putt-putt, and attending car shows. His life was a blend of devoted service, compassion for others, and a love of the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda (Gregory) Brown; and two brothers, David Etter and Curtis Etter, Jr.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 38 years, is a daughter, Tiffany M. Bartley and her husband, Michael of Churchville; a sister, Donna Gregory of West Virginia; a grandson, Adam Desper; and a special friend, Joyce Overton. 
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Billy Curry. 
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. 
Active pallbearers will be Dakota Smith, Dale Smith, Eric Brown, Danny Adkins, Johnny Kincaid, and Don Lilly, Jr.
